10 Trends Shaping Business and Learning in 2010 (and a Whole Brain® Response!)
A new year always brings with it new lists – the trends to watch for, the big issues on the horizon, the forecasts of what’s to come – and 2010 is no different. We’ve seen a variety of articles and discussions over the past several months attempting to predict where organizations will be directing their energies in 2010.
Coming off of a tumultuous year in 2009, organizations seem ever more focused on shoring up their leadership talent at all levels. As Josh Bersin noted in his summary of Bersin Research Members' Top 5 Trends to Watch in 2010, “The top HR priority in nearly every company we speak with continues to be leadership development (at all levels).”
The latest Forbes Insight study on Managing Talent in a Turbulent Economy, conducted by Deloitte, echoes that finding. “Programs aimed at developing top talent and training corporate leaders easily outrank all other training initiatives, including regulatory/risk training and sales-specific training.”
There are other common themes, too. In the spirit of a new year and new lists, we’ve compiled a “list of the lists,” distilling down the business, leadership and learning trends and focus areas into a Top 10 for 2010.
You’ll find the list below, but head over to the Whole Brain® Blog for our more in-depth analysis of these trends as well as the Whole Brain® implications of each.
While you’re there, pick your top 3 from the list and you could win a prize! Thinking about the hot button issues you, your organization or your clients will be dealing with in 2010, what are your top 3 from the list below? Submit them in the comments section of the blog, and you’ll automatically be entered to win a prize in our next blog contest!
